where the baker sleeps was founded by a baker who is propelled by the transformative power of bread. Shauna Kearns learned to bake at St John’s Bakery, a social enterprise that has changed the lives of many facing barriers in the east end of Toronto. She has baked in wood-fired ovens across Canada, the US, and UK. Kearns has spent the better part of the last decade building ovens in the US and creating programming with community members (The Braddock Community Oven)
